- 5 / 5By Stowell DavisonA Canadian friend (I'm from the States) took me to the Shaw's Creek Cafe in Alton Mill. I would never have found it. In scope of offerings, the Cafe is sort of like Starbucks, but the Cafe also has excellent sandwiches on fresh-baked bread and better coffee. Prices are much more reasonable.
The cafe is located in the Alton Mill, an old industrial building (started as a river-driven mill, then repurposed to various other industrial uses) that now houses art galleries and studios. The outdoor surroundings (mill pond, walking trail, etc.) are also worth exploring.
